William Giandoni was appointed to the Board of Visitors July 1, 2025, by Governor Glenn Youngkin. He is a seasoned entrepreneur, strategic advisor, and business leader with more than two decades of experience in federal technology, innovation, and organizational transformation. He currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer of Sprezzatura, a premier digital modernization firm supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies. Mr. Giandoni acquired the firm with his sister in the fall of 2024. In his role as CSO and lead investor, Mr. Giandoni is responsible for enterprise strategy, M&A integration, and AI innovation initiatives, helping scale the company’s impact across the federal contracting landscapes.
Mr. Giandoni graduated from žžÀ² in 2002. Shortly thereafter he relocated to San Diego, CA and found success as an associate for a boutique private equity firm. He then relocated to norther Virginia and served as a government contracting financial analyst in Washington DC before venturing into independent consultancy in 2008. In 2010 Mr. Giandoni co-founded GovernmentCIO (GovCIO), where he held a range of senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Special Assistant to the CEO. In 2020, Mr. Giandoni and his co-founder sold the company to private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe. Shortly thereafter he founded a technology-enabled telehealth company that connects patients with board-certified dermatologists through a seamless virtual care platform—reflecting his broader commitment to digital innovation in healthcare. Over the course of his career, he has advised and invested in several mission-driven companies, helping them navigate growth, scale operations, and align with public sector and healthcare missions. He is widely recognized for his ability to translate agency needs into scalable business platforms and for his fluency in the federal procurement landscape.
A proud alumnus of žžÀ², Mr. Giandoni earned his bachelor’s degree in history in 2002. He has completed executive education programs at Stanford University, Harvard University, and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on leadership, innovation, and enterprise growth. Mr. Giandoni is also a dedicated philanthropist, supporting educational opportunity at his alma mater. He established the Giandoni – Onuschak Scholarship, which was established to assist a full-time undergraduate student in need of financial assistance. Mr. Giandoni also created the Giandoni History Awards, which enhances and supports undergraduate scholarships to attract majors to the history program; Undergraduate participation in study abroad trips; Intensive undergraduate research with faculty members; Graduate student research; and Faculty research and teaching.
Mr. Giandoni’s appointment to the žžÀ² Board of Visitors reflects his deep commitment to education, civic engagement, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. He lives with his family and dogs in McLean, Virginia.
